"A problem occurred initializing items to exclude from the backup" warning during backup. (4046998)

Backup job generates the following warning -

A problem occurred initializing items to exclude from the backup: 'Failed to open file exclusions file '*.mp3, *.mpg, *.avi, *.dat, *3gp''

A string of patterns to exclude from file system backups is input into the "Backup Exclusion List - Name Based Patterns" field of the plugin configuration.

File is not saves in Unicode format

To configure an exclusion list first create a text file containing the definitions of files to exclude, then enter the path and file name into the "Backup Exclusion List - Name Based Patterns" field for file system plugin configuration.

For more information about using file system plugin exclusions refer to section "3.2.0 Using Exclusion Lists" of the 'Plug-in for FileSystem User’s Guide'.

Note:

Create exclusion list for windows systems using notepad then use save as, here select Unicode from the encoding drop down option.

Create exclusion list on Linux system using nano this save the file in Unicode by default.
