In device management or in media management some media are showing different ids for the media label and the barcode (the number in brackets) fields
The most likely cause for this is that the tapes were labelled when the drives in the library were in the wrong order leading to the wrong tape being assigned the label.
The bar code reader on the other hand will always correctly identify the tape from the barcode.
This will not stop the tapes being scanned to restore or datacopy but bear in mind that the id reported in the 'media list' option in the restore window refers to the drive assigned label and not the barcode. If a tape for a restore is being identified in this way you will need to match this id against the actual barcode in 'Media Management'.
To get the two ids correspond once more it will be necessary to blank the media and relabel them. If the media contain savesets that need to be retained the best thing is to mark them as read only then wait for all the savesets have expired. As the media is 'read only' no further backups will be able to write to it at this point. Once the last saveset on the media has expired blank the tape and allow it to be relabelled using the barcode (nvconfigurator->media manager->Use barcodes as labels)
