NetVault Bare Metal Recovery allows you to:
- Perform online full partition backups (VSS based for Windows and Storix based for Linux)
- Perform offline block level backups using VaultOS or WinPE live cd
- Recover complete machines images using VaultOS or WinPE live cd
Since there are several plugins and components to be used, it is often difficult to determine which component should be installed and where. The below quick reference can help you.
What to install and where?
Below are the currently available plugins and their functions:
- Plug-in Server ver. 4.0.9:
Must be installed on NVBU server in order to backup/restore offline clients booted with Plug-in Offline.
Filenames:
'drc-4-0-9-2.npk' for Linux NVBU servers
'drc-4-0-9-17.npk' for Windows NVBU servers.
- Plug-in Offline Client ver.6.0: To boot offline clients with.
VaultOS for Linux and WinPE for Windows.
- Plug-in Live Client for Windows ver. 4.0.9:
To install on Windows clients you wish to backup online.
Filename: 'drw-4-0-9-17.npk'
- Plug-in Live Client for Linux ver. 4.0.9 and 4.1.1:
To install on Linux clients you wish to backup online as well as on their backup server.
Since the Plug-in Live Client for Linux must be installed on both NVBU server and Linux clients you will need the following files:
Filenames:
'drx-4-0-9-2.npk' – install on Linux clients and Linux NVBU servers
'drx-4-0-9-17.npk' – install on Windows NVBU Servers
Newer version:
