Need to rename or change the NetVault server name.
Renaming the NetVault server is not a task to take lightly. If you need to change the name of a NetVault client machine see knowledge base article titled “How to change/rename a client's NetVault name”.
To change the name of the NetVault server you will need to un-install NetVault. During the installation process of NetVault is when you will have the opportunity to “name” the NetVault installation. You will not be able to use the existing database; therefore you will need to add any clients that you wish to backup, add the backup devices as needed and create any jobs that you wish to run. To populate the media database with the history of the previous tapes you will need to ‘scan” in the tapes as needed. If you had previously created customs reports, those will need to recreated those also. You may need to contact Quest licensing dept to request a new license key if the NetVault machine ID has changed
