When running a NetVault Oracle APM User Managed backup job, it fails with "No archived logs found"
The NetVault Binary Log shows the following:
Information 2012/05/20 20:48:36 593 Data Plugin 'OracleServer' Switching log file
Information 2012/05/20 20:48:36 593 Data Plugin 'OracleServer' Saving archived log files in 'path for the Archive Logs configured'
Error 2012/05/20 20:48:36 593 Data Plugin 'OracleServer' No archived logs found
Error 2012/05/20 20:48:39 593 Data Plugin 'OracleServer' Backup failure: one selected item couldn't be processed.
This happens because there is a problem when running a NetVault Oracle APM User Managed backup job, and there is problem wiht the NetVault Oracle APM User Managed backup configuration.
Here how to resolve this issue.
1)- Open the NetVault Console and Click on Backup, double Click on the Oracle Server and double Click on the Oracle APM.
2)- Right Click on the Database and select "Edit Database", and Click on the "User Managed" Tab of the "Edit Oracle Database" Window that will open.
3)- Place only the file extension preceded by the Asterisk on the "Archive Log" Format field (i.e place *.arc if the file extension is .arc)
Note: Please check also:
1)- Does the 'path for the Archive Logs' exists and is accessible by the NetVault software?
2)- IF all items on the "User Managed" Tab of the "Edit Oracle Database" Window are correct. Are all archive log files actually there?
