- When running the "Overnight Job Summary" report the "Currently Active Jobs" section shows few jobs that belong to a Policy.
- However this Policy and all of its jobs have long completed.
- The "Running Status" shows UNKNOWN
For an explanation of this behaviour, please refer to SOL79170: https://support.quest.com/Search/SolutionDetail.aspx?id=SOL79170&category=Solutions&SKB=1
This behaviour is indicative of a minor ScheduleDatabase corruption in which job stubs are left over and not processed.
Usually a ScheduleDatabase compaction is recommended.
Note that SOL79170 only applies to regular jobs not Policy jobs.
Run a ScheduleDatabase compaction:
1. Stop NetVault
2. Run ..netvault/util/nvscheddbcheck compact
3. Start NetVault and check the report.
If the ScheduleDatabase compaction doesn't help simply quiesce > edit and > re-save the Policy in question:
1. Open the NVBU Policy Management window.
2. In the View list, select Policy View.
3. Open the nodes further to display the target policy node.
4. Right-click the node for the Policy in question and select Quiesce. While the operation is in progress,
the text Quiescing is displayed beside the policy name.
5. During quescing NVBU deletes the scheduled instances, while completing any active job of that policy. Once done the text "Quiesce Complete" is shown next to the policy name.
6. Right click the Policy and choose Edit
7. Immediatley save the Policy by clicking "Save Policy"
The report should now show the correct information.
