NetVault creates the index in a temporary directory located on the client being backed up. After creation, the index is transfered to the temporary directoy on the client. By default, these directories are [nvhome]\tmp, but can be configured in nvconfigurator.
This error usually indicates a problem with one or both of the temporary directories.
Make sure that there is plenty of free disk space on the Netvault Servers temporary directory as well as free space on the Netvault Clients temporary directory. Check that the temporary directory on the client exists in the location specified in the Netvault configurator.
If the temporary directory does not exist then take the following actions:
1) Stop the Netvault services on the client
2) Create the tmp directory in the correct location
3) Restart the Netvault services on the client.
Do the same with the netvault server.
