Collecting trace from a BMR offline WinPE booted ISO (4042863)

On some occasions trace is required from a backup or restore when using offline BMR and WinPE booted ISO. The following instruction show how to collect the required trace from netvault server and offline BMR client using a WinPE booted ISO.

1/ boot WinPE

2/ enable trace on the netvault server

3/ run the backup or restore to reproduce issue

4/ attach netvault server trace to service request or quest FTP site or to service request

5/ collect trace from boot WinPE client

On boot WinPE client:

• Launch CMD from the BMR GUI to bring up Dos Command Prompt
• Change Directory to root X:\
• Change to X:\questbmr
• ftp
• open [FTP Server IP Address] [Port Number – optional]
• put bmr.log
• done

6/ attach bmr.log file on quest FTP server or to service request

7/ create binary log of the traced job and attach to service request or FTP site or to service request
