Oracle plugin installed on a Linux NetVault Backup server fails to load media management library -
Description
If NetVault Backup server is installed on an Oracle server and you attempt to use the Plugin for Oracle, when RMAN tries to load the NetVault Backup media management library it will fail to load.
ORA-27211: Failed to load Media Management Library -
Cause
A component of the core NetVault Backup software for client is not installed for the NetVault Backup server installation. This results in the path to the media management library not being set. -
Resolution
In /etc/ld.so.conf.d create a file named netvault.conf and add the following two lines in the order shown.
/usr/lib64
/usr/netvault/lib
Then run ldconfig
