DR show displays RED led and offline in manage devices but backs write to DR slowly after DR reboot.
1/ Looking at binary log we see the DR coming online then messages “Please review the RDA device details” and “Error Code 21. 'No such device” as seen in binary log extract below.
2/ Looking at the …\programdata\Dell\DellDRLog.log or the librofsoca.log file we see “to get device attributes (Broken pipe)” and RDA control connection broken to server: DR6000 (Broken pipe) as seen below in the DellDRLog.log or the librofsoca.log file extract.

Cause
NetVault “nvrascontroller.exe” process has gone stale

Resolution
1/ Restart the NetVault services
2/ if not possible to restart NetVault serveries kill the stale “nvrascontroller.exe” process using task manger and NetVault should spawn new process for the container, then come back online.
Or form command line as administrator use the command “taskkill /pid xxxx” after verifying that the process is a “nvrascontroller.exe” process.
Note this will kill any running backups that are writing to or duplicating from the DR container you kill the process for.
If you are not 100% happy doing this proceedure please log a service request with quest and we will assist
To identify the correct process we need to locate the window process ID for the “nvrascontroller.exe”
You need to kill. Below we have two containers test_container2, test_container1 on the same DR called “DR6000”. The process ID in this text come directly after date/time in square brackets.
In this example the process id are 1788 for test_container1 and 3144 for test_container2
