Backup of a Windows client reports the following entry in the log;
error writing MACHINE/BCD0000000
This is a Warning with additionl information, expanding the additional information gives the message 'Failed to stat file'.
This is under investigation with Development and is reported in bug 21236.
Check the release notes of future releases to see if the fix for bug 21236 is included.
A workaround is to run an additional backup without VSS to capture the Boot Configuration Data registry entry.
