If done incorrectly you may get an error when trying to export tapes: "Access denied for machine". Request sent, but does not complete. Port does not show after tape push.

You are able to export one tape but then the second tape gives you the above error or does nothing.

Please follow the correct procedure below to export your tapes.

1. Select "Manage Devices" from the task bar. All devices added to NetVault will be displayed.
2. Click on the arrow to the right of your tape library to expand the view.
3. Click on the cog icon (tool-tip - Manage Slots) that is level with the Slots row.
4. The Slot Browser screen for the library will be displayed.
5. From the table select the desired tape to highlight it.
6. The "Export" button will now be enabled. Click on the "Export" button.
7. The NetVault WebUI will now display the Port Browser screen
8. The previously selected tape will now be displayed in the table.
   1. If your library has more than one slot in its EE port you can export more tapes until the desired number of tapes has been exported or all EE ports are full
   2. Click on the "> Slots" button. This will take you back to the Slot Browser screen
   3. Select another tape from the table and click on the "Export" button.
   4. Wait for the Port Browser screen to be displayed.
   5. You should see the selected tape displayed in the table
   6. Repeat steps 2 - 5 until you have exported all your required tapes or the EE port is full.
9. Now select any of the tapes in the EE port table. The "Open Port" button should now be highlighted.
10. Click on the "Open Port" button. This does not have the effect of physically opening the actual port door on the library. It simply makes NetVault lock the library so that it knows the port door is or is going to be opened. Leave the Web UI on this screen.
11. Now you must visit your tape library wherever that may be and physically open the port door on the library using the control buttons on the front of the library. (Please refer to your library's manual for instructions on how do do this).
12. Once the port door is open remove the tape or tapes and close the door.
13. Now return to the browser where the NetVault WebUI is running.
14. Click on the "Close Door" button. This is very important as it tells NetVault that you have physically closed the port door and will remove the lock on the library.
15. You are now free to export further tapes from the library using the steps above.
