In an Exchange DAG environment, especially with more than a few nodes in the DAG, backups can fail with the following error messages.
Proxy Master on DAG member server ‘EXCH01’ died unexpectedly
Failed to launch Proxy Master on ‘EXCH01’
Monitor Progress Update messages are being sent too frequently.
Version 10.0.5 of the Exchange plugin added a configuration parameter to limit Monitor Progress Update messages. This parameter should be increased from the default of 4.
1. Make note of the settings in the Virtual Client and then delete the Virtual Client from Manage Clients.
2. Create the Virtual Client using Exchange Plugin 10.0.5 or later.
3. When configuring the credentials to the Exchange Plugin will use, there will be a new configuration option “Monitor Progress Update Interval”. Increase this from 4 to 8.
