Data domain DDboost device goes offline.
Data domain device has 2 IPaddesses
Network connectivity problem
1a/ If the Data Domain DDboost device is attached to the NetVault server Put an entry in the NetVault servers host file for the data Domain DDboost device. Use the IPaddress used when adding the Data domain DDboost device.
1b/ If the Data Domain DDboost device is attached to the NetVault smart client Put an entry in the NetVault smart clients host file for the data Domain DDboost device. Use the IPaddress used when adding the Data domain DDboost device.
2/ NetVault Administrator’s Guide recommends windows network timeout is configured see below:
Configure network time-outs — Backup and restore jobs often take a long time to complete. Although the DD Boost Library can recover from temporary network interruptions, the operating system on the data protection application system might terminate a job prematurely if the data protection applicationtime-outs are set too low. To avoid this, Data Domain recommends setting time-outs to at least 30 minutes (1800 seconds).
Make the changes required to the NetVault server or smart client that the Data domain DDboost device is attached to. Below is a link to article explaining how to do this
