1. Log in to your DR Web Interface and Click on Container to create a new one
2. Choose to create an NDMP container on the DR by select NDMP as the access protocol
3. Choose the size of your virtual tapes, default is 800GB and max size (if you want smaller, change to desired size)
4. Where it asks you for the IP/FQDN, enter the IP Paddress of the NetVault server (where the NDMP plugin is installed)
5. For the marker type, use “Unix Dump”, then save
6. On the backup server go to the NDMP plugin, click on it and then click the Actions button and choose Add A Server
7. Give it a name that will help you identify that this is the DR you're adding
8. Enter the IP address of the DR Box (same IP you use when logging into the interface). The username and password by default is (ndmp_user/St0r@ge!). Once you've entered everything, click OK/save and you'll see it added as an NDMP client.
9. Next go into Manage Devices, and click on "Add a Device"
10. Then choose "Tape Library/Media Changer" and next
11. Choose the Server that the NDMP plugin is installed on (Backup Server), that it will be added to, then click Next
It will now scan for devices and will add your DR NDMP VTL as a Storagetek Library, with 10 Tape Drives and 12 Tape Slots. You can now use your new DR NDMP VTL for your NDMP Backups. If at a later time you expand the storage space on your DR or you already have more disk space than what the current VTL is configured to use, you may expand your DR NDMP VTL by adding Slots.
To do this, you'll go into your DR Web Interface and "Edit" the DR NDMP VTL, when the window pops up you'll see a line where you can add slots, enter the amount of additional slots you want to add and then just click save, it will update within the DR itself and will update itself within NetVault automatically (it may take about a minute or less to update itself within NetVault, the Library will go offline for a few seconds and the tapes will automatically be put in the tape drives to scan and then unload them into their newly created slots automatically).
