Optimized replications of VMware backups between DR4100 devices hang and have to be aborted (4035569)

Using NVU 9.2 optmized replications to copy VMware backups between DR4100 systems (on v2.1.0851.2) fails.

All data is transferred but the datacopy plugin hangs until aborted.

Logs show the below:

This issue only happens on VMware backups.
Optmized replication of File System backups for instance will complete successfully.

Escalations to DR4100 Support revealed the issue is due to a fault in the DR4x00 firmware v2 (Bug 19662) which has been resolved by upgrading to version 3.0.0.2 (3.0.0.154.2).

This issue is has been resolved in DR upgrade version 3.0.0.2.

Technical Support highly recommends applying this update as soon as possible to improve the reliability and availability of the DR4x00 systems.

Also every time the DR OS firmware is upgraded, it may be necessary to install the RDS plugin that comes with it on all NVBU servers and client that backup to the DR4x00 system. This is to make sure NVBU uses the correct library to communicate with the DR4x00 system.

To install the RDS plugin simply download it from the DR4x00 web interface under : Storage > Clients > RDA > Download plugin.

Choose only the RDS plugins and install them on each of the NVBU machine then restart the NVBU service each time.
