This issue has been seen in some older versions of NetVault and a NetVault upgrade may be required to resolve this problem. Below are two sections, one will give you recommendation to try without upgrading that may resolve the problem, the second with upgrading that should resolve the problem.
Section one restore without upgrade:
1/ Open NetVault configurator, processes manger tab, set shared memory used by process table to 16000.
2/ on NetVault server open windows services, right click the NetVault process manger, select properties. Then select logon tab, enable interact with desk top.
3/ Restart NetVault services and try the restore
4/ if we still fail to restore, reduce the size of the restore by restoring the backup in sections not all in one job.
Section two restore with upgrade:
1/ Upgrade NetVault server to latest version also upgrade the NDMP plugin to latest version
Note you will not have to upgrade all your client, existing backups will work on older versions of NetVault client. BUT it is recommended that you upgrade the clients and there plugins over the next few weeks.
2/ Open NetVault configurator, processes manger tab, set shared memory used by process table to 128000.
3/ on NetVault server open windows services, right click the NetVault process manger, select properties. Then select logon tab, enable interact with desk top. Please do this as if it even if you have applied this before as on some occasions the upgrade of NetVault will put this option back to default.
4/ Restart NetVault services and restore
