How to add totals to the "Storage Utilization"report (4035103)

Should you need to report on the overall storage usage on your VTLs and Tape devices, the current "Storage Utilization" report only shows usage for each tape/media and tells how much blank media there is.

The totals for each columns SPACE USED and SPACE LEFT is not present, but is provided only for SmartDisk devices.

In order to display totals for the Space Used/ Space Left columns on the Storage Utilization" report, please do as follows.

- Open Reports
- Right click "Storage Utilization"reprot.
- Select "Edit View Job"
- In the bottom pane called "Selected components" double click "Media Utilization"
- Go to the "Output options" tab
- check "Outout total record"
- Click the "Save and add to job" diskette button - top left hand corner
- Back to the previous window save again by clicking the "Save" button
- Click OK to overwrite the existing report
- Close all windows and run your report again. You should now see the totals output at the bottom of each SPACE USED and SPACE LEFT columns.

Note that the "Output totals" option applies and is valid for all other reports, should it be necessary to add up any column with numerical values.
