VMware backup job failed with the following error message:
"VMware license has been exceeded".
Three ESX Servers were added to the VMware Plugin i.e. three connections.
Installing an evaluation license key for the VMware Plugin resolved the issue, so the problem was with the license key itself (Go to NetVault Server Client Management > Right click on the NetVault machine where the VMware Plugin is installed on and select Install License > Paste the license key in and make sure that there is no space before or after the license key, otherwise it will fail).
A new VMware Plugin license key was generated for three connections and was added to the NetVault Server successfully.
Now the following error message appeared:
"Plugin for VMware has no valid license installed".
The VMware Plugin license key was changed to an Enterprise version with three connections.
Installing this new license key resolved the issue and VMware backups were running again.
