Description
Failed to backup data of disk '[XXXX] VM.vmdk' to media[14009] The server refused connectionNBD_ClientOpen: Couldn't connect to XXXX.com:902 Host address lookup for server XXXX.com failed: No such host is known -
Cause
VDDK may crash due to I/O retry after an NBD asynchronous I/O (AIO) error. If the backup application ignore the errors and continues reading or writing, it then results in an NBD network-connect error and backup failure -
Resolution
a) If the hostname esx_hostname1 is not DNS resolvable, the Netvault plugin for Vmware will not be able to connect and read the disks, Hence ADD the Host in the DNS Entry
b) There is a known issue affecting VMware VDDK 6.7.x and later versions. according to Vmware documentation and Fixed from 6.7 updates 3 onwards
