How to restore the NVDB under NVBU 11.1.0.29 - Workaround to Bug 31749 -
Description
Using NetVault Backup 11.1.0.29, NetVault Database restores fail to restore the main NetVault Databases:
Auditor, Logs, Machines, Scheduler and Media database.

Cause
This is due to Bug 31749.To accommodate new canned reports introduced in NV11.1.0.29, several PostgreSQL database views have been added to the NetVault databases.These views currently make it impossible for a NVDB restore to overwrite the existing databases. -
Resolution
Bug 31749 is now resolved in NVBU 11.2 please upgrade to avoid this issue.Please note:If an upgrade from 11.1 to 11.2 is not currently possible, while the attached document will help recover the NVDB on Windows under NVBU 11.1, this method may fail on Linux due to some PostgreSQL limitations.The preferred solution if you are still on NVBU 11.1 is the following:- Download and extract NetVault Database Plugin 11.2.0.3- Remove 'NetVault Databases Plugin. For backup and restore of the NetVault Databases' version 11.1Manage Clients->select NetVault Server->select NetVault Databases Plugin->Remove (' - 'sign)- Install the 'NetVault Databases Plugin version 11.2.0.3', which contains the fix and is compatible with NVBU server 11.1. Please choose the appropriate plugin based on OS and architecture.Manage Clients->select NetVault Server ->Add plugin ('+' sign) ->select the 11.2 NetVault Database Plugin downloaded from this KB- Run the NVDB restore as normal and wait for the service to stop before starting NVBU, which should complete successfully. Note that based on the size of the NVDB restored we may have to wait a long period for the NVDB restore to complete. A sign the restore is complete is that there are no more nv* processes running.
