When manually resetting CBT using the NetVault plugin the error “remote machine: XXXX is unavailable” pops up.
This is unexpected because the plugin is installed on the system mentioned in the error message and it is also the NetVault server. Looking at the VMware trace below we see “request for task status updates” and that the CBT reset completes successfully later “'Successfully reset Changed Block Tracking”
We see in the Nvwsworker trace “request returns '1' objects with error [The remote machine: PISABCK is unavailable]”
The time between the request in the plugin and the failure in the Nvwsworker trace worker trace is 2 minutes. This is the Nvwsworker time out period and The timeout elapsed because VMware process stuck waiting for response from vCenter/esxi server.
