How to migrate smartdisk volumes to different volume
The migration of volumes is not technically supported but Here is the procedure that I believe that can be used to migrate smartdisk volumes. As stated there is no official support for this there is an element of risk if things go wrong because Engineering are within their writes not to assist if there are problems after migration.
1/ stop smartdisk services
2/ add the volume you wish to make the new smartdisk volume
3/ copy the complete contents (all directories all files) of the volume from the original volume to the new volume. Making what is in effect a mirror of the original volume.
4/ Change the volume letter of the original Volume to something different and make the new volume letter the same as the one it replacing.
Note: would be advised to do this one at a time and keep the old volume until smartdisk restarts and you have used it successfully. once the new volume has been written to successfully the old volume no longer has any use because it will be unaware of the new changes.
Drive letters have to remain the same staged data indexes make reference to the disk letter.
