How much data needs to be written to stage before deduplication starts
All backups except NDMP based backups will backup in chunks of 400GB on completion of the 400GB chuck write the data will be put in the queue to be deduped. The data will then be deduped id you are in the dedupe window set on SmartDisk. If you are in the garbage collection window on SmartDisk it will wait until garbage collection has finished and then dedupe even if SmartDisk is still in the Garbage collection window.
If the dedupe window starts before garbage collection complete garbage collection will be stopped until the dedupe complete or the dedupe window closes.
NDMP backups work differently and the backup has to complete before the data will dedupe
