When trying to add the tape library in the NetVault Device Management:
1)- Open the NetVault GUI
2)- Click on the Device Management Icon
3)- Click on the Add and Select "Add Tape Library"
4)- Under the Library Selection Tab, Double Click on the Server that has the Tape Library Attached to it in order to show the Tape Library under the Robotic Arm folder
5)- When Double Clicking on the Tape Library to add it, a NVBU error PopUp window appears with the following error message.
"Library Geometry Unavailable. Check the door is closed"
6)- If you click on the Drive Selection Tab, you will see all drives but you cannot add them because it will show "Select for Drive Bay" 0 of 0
The Problem here was because the The customer had set Hardware Encryption for the whole Partition, including the Robot Arm.
So, when the NetVault Software querry the tape library when adding it, the encrypted information returned by the tape library will not be understood by the software.
The software will than produce an popup NVBU error message "Library Geometry Unavailable. Check the door is closed"
The solution is to remove Encryption for the Tape Library.
That will allow the tape Library to be added successfully
If needed, you can add encryption for the tape drives only and not for the Robotic Arm.
