ExchangePro: Exchange 2013 Distribution Lists (4307305)

Issue

It appears that Microsoft has fixed something in Exchange 2013 that has been an issue in Exchange probably since Exchange 5.5.  Starting with Exchange 2013, Distribution Lists cannot be assigned permissions on Public Folders.  Distribution Lists were never intended to be security principles, but previously, they could be assigned permissions in Public Folders.

Solution

That being said if legacy PFs had Distribution Lists assigned permissions, when these are migrated to Exchange 2013 these will not be assigned permissions on the Target.
