ADPro: The workstation is creating a new profile instead of using the existing Windows profile. -
Description
After we reACL the user profile and log in with the target credentials, it creates a new profile. All permissions are correctly defined on the original profile, yet a new Windows profile is still created. Why? -
Cause
The way you are using the product is not the way the product is intended to work with Windows 10 devices. In order to log into the device with the target credentials and not create a new profile is to ReACL then perform a device cutover. The cutover process runs a number of scripts and updates the existing profile, so when the user logs in, the existing profile is used. -
Resolution
Remove the new profile.
Perform a device cutover.
Once the cutover is successfully completed, log into the device with the target credentials.
The existing Windows profile should be updated and load without a new profile being created.
