Error message "The remote server returned an error:(401) Unauthorized" (4286717)

When trying to connect to the remote Notes Migrator for SharePoint the following error is received
Unable to connect to the Notes Migrator for SharePoint Import Service at http://servername:8888/ImportSession.svc due to the following error: The remote server returned an error:(401) Unauthorized.

This is caused by the Central admin page for SharePoint operating on the same port as the Import Service for Notes Migrator for SharePoint; this is the default port 8888. As a result the Central Admin was overwritten with the Import Service and would get the above error when trying to browse to the Import Service.

If this is production server please take a full backup.

1. Uninstall the Notes Migrator for SharePoint web services and then reprovision the Central Admin page using the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard.The Central Admin pagewill get deleted when uninstalling the Notes Migrator for SharePoint web services as the Notes Migrator for SharePoint web service and the Central were on the same port.

2. Reinstall the Notes Migrator for SharePoint web services on a different port so that there is no conflict in the ports with any other web application.

3. The Import Service must be configured with anonymous access and the ability to browse the import service anonymously must be enabled.

The Import Service will connect without any errors and with no issues once the Central Admin and the Notes Migrator for SharePoint web services was installed correctly on different ports.
