When migrating a Lotus Notes database or teamroom with attachments, the Sharepoint document or article has the correct create and modify dates, but the files themselves do not.
The files look as if they were created on the day of the migration instead of their original create dates on the Notes Database (2005 for example).
Is there any way for the Quest Notes Migrator for SharePoint to move the create and modify dates for the files or attachments when migrating from Lotus Notes to Sharepoint?
SharePoint does not store meta data (such as the creation date) for each of the attachments to an item; it only stores the binary data for the attachment. When SharePoint creates a file for that attachment, the file itself is created fresh, and the binary data from the attachment is written to the file.
This is a limitation of SharePoint.
