Notes Migrator for Exchange (NME) keeps track of messages by using the unique Notes ID on the source that is appended to the message once it has been migrated.
When mail is set up to be migrated, it will check all of the source Notes ids and determine if they can be found on any target messages.
If any of these unique ids are found, it will respond accordingly, depending on what is specified in the RemigrateMode option in the applications ini file (Notesmigmrg-edt.ini) .
NOTE: By default, the RemigrateMode option does not exist in Notesmigmrg-edt.ini file .
How you wish to deal with messages that have already been migrated depends on how you have configured this option in notesmigmgr-edit.ini file.
The .ini setting you can use is as follows:
[Exchange]
RemigrateMode=<#>
... where the parameter value is a single digit, 0 or 1, as follows:
- 0 (Update mode): If the program detects a duplicate message in Exchange, the message will be deleted in Exchange and then re-migrated from the Notes source.
- 1 (default (no setting)): If the program detects a duplicate message in Exchange, the Notes source will not be migrated, leaving the previously migrated copy in Exchange.
In this video KB, it shows how to specify RemigrateMode option in Notesmigmrg-edt.ini, and demo of the migration.
