How to create an account with impersonation rights in Office 365?
Resolution
Impersonation in Office 365:
From the Admin Center select Exchange"
Click Permissions in the left hand menu
Create a “New Role Group”
Enter a name for the group
Add the “ApplicationImpersonation” role to that group
Add the user account that you want to have this role to the Members box at the bottom
Save your changes
Additional Information
Note: The Office 365 migration admin account will also need to be a member of the Organization Management group, in addition to the group created in the above instructions.
You can assign the application impersonation roll directly to the Migration account.
The migration admin account must be configured with application impersonation, by
this PowerShell cmdlet (in one continuous line):
New-ManagementRoleAssignment -Role "ApplicationImpersonation" –User
