Migration to Office 365 using Outlook 2013, migration is crashing -
Description
When migrating to Office 365 and using Outlook 2013 on the MNE migration server, there may be instances where the migration will terminate unexpectedly. -
Cause
MNE is designed to use MAPI over HTTP when migrating to Office 365, however, there are circumstances where Outlook 2013 doesn't seem to handle certain data over MAPI over HTTP well. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND 1:
Uninstall Outlook 2013 and install the "click to run" version of Office/Outlook 2016 (32bit) from the "semi-annual" channel by downloading it from the Office 365 portal.
WORKAROUND 2:
Force MNE to use MAPI over RPC by implementing the following parameter in the MNE Global Default Settings:
[Exchange]
AutodiscoverDisableMapiHttp=1STATUS
The issue is slated to be resolved by future enhancements in Migrator for Notes to Exchange.
