Incorrect characters appear as replacements for characters with accents following a Notes to Exchange migration.
The orginal email show the correct characters such as CómõOÒGçaóo but when migrated this string of text appears as with different characters replacing the accented letters.
This issue was found to be a problem with either the regional settings of Windows and the Notes/Outlook Mail clients or a corrupt language pack.
To solve this try migrating to PST if migrating directly to Exchange and if the same issue occures then check the Regional Settings in Windows:
If this does not solve the issue, try reinstalling Outlook and or use a different version of Outlook as moving from 2010 to 2007 solved the issue in one case reported to Quest Support.
There are also two parameters in the NME Parameters Reference Guide that can effect this, see:
[Exchange]
RewriteRTF=<#>
and
[Notes]
ForceOldNxRTFdll=<#>
Please refer to the NME_Params_Ref.pdf supplied in the NME documentation program sub-folder before adjusting these parameters.
