When using the Admin Batch Migrator with Groupwise Migrator for Exchange (GME) 3.2, you may see the following error:
ERROR: "The Exchange Admin/Migration user must have "Receive As" permission to the mail store".
With Exchange 2000, this permission can typically be assigned by adding the user to ONLY the following 2 groups:
Domain Users
Exchange Domain Servers
With Exchange 2003, this permission must be assigned directly within the mail store properties using Exchange System Manager.
Furthermore, when you click ok, and then click the back button, and then the next button again, you are prompted for credentials to be used when connecting to the outlook profile. Once these credentials are entered, the product can continue and the migration is successful.
This error is caused because the current logged in user (to windows) is different than the Quest Migration account. Furthermore, this logged in user is inheriting a deny for the "receive as" permission by association via a group membership.
To resolve this issue, either:
1. Ensure that the current logged in user has no inherited denies for the "receive as" permissions.
2. Log into windows using the designated Quest Migration account, which has the correct receive as permissions.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
By default, if "choose a profile" is not selected for your mail/outlook preferences (control panel, mail), then Groupwise Migrator for Exchange(GME) will attempt to use the currently logged in user credentials to log into outlook. This logged in user may not have the needed "receive as" rights, and this will result in the error.
When clicking ok, and then back, and next again, Groupwise Migrator for Exchange(GME) will prompt for the correct user/password, with which you will be able to proceed with the migration. This is by design.
