MAGE.log file shows the following error:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: The server process could not be started because the configured identity is incorrect. Check the username and password. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000401A) | at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ThrowExceptionForHRInternal(Int32 errorCode, IntPtr errorInfo).
In this case the Migration Agent for Exchange MAPI Assistant COM + application service was running under the local system account (which most probably differed from the MAGE service account).
To resolve the issue, replace the Local System account with the actual service account used by the MAGE having all appropriate permissions on the host server and both source and target Exchange servers, as follows:
1) On the MAGE host server point to Administrative Tools and select Component services.
2) Run Component services and expand COM + applications node down to Quest Migration Agent for Exchange MAPI Assistant
3) Open the Properties of the Migration Agent for Exchange MAPI Assistant and retype both the service account and its passoword on the Identity page, as shown on the screenshot attached.
4) Restart MAgE.
