How can I configure Client Profile Updating Utility (CPUU) to use source and target admin accounts, so that end-users are not prompted for credentials?
When going through the Client Profile Updating Utility Configuration wizard, there is an option to "Use the following user account:" The credentials supplied to the Client Profile Updating Utility Configuration wizard must have permissions to log on to the source and target mailboxes that are being switched.
Source:
Exchange 2010/2013: CPUU admin account requires at least "Receive As" permissions to the source mailboxes.
Exchange 2007: CPUU admin account requires at least "Receive As" permissions to the source mailboxes.
Office 365: CPUU admin account requires "Full Access" mailbox permissions to the target mailboxes.
Target:
Exchange 2013/2016: CPUU admin account requires at least "Receive As" permissions to the target mailboxes.
Office 365: CPUU admin account requires "Full Access" mailbox permissions to the target mailboxes.
NOTE: If the source and/or target are Office 365 environments, then it is highly suggested that the CPUU service admin accounts are created as "cloud-only" accounts with a "@tenant.onmicrosoft.com" email address.
