Description
When processing a computer using Resource Updating Manager you may recieve this error return in the description column.
"The system detected a possible attempt to compromise security. Please ensure that you can contact the server that authenticated you"

Cause
They are several possibilities of why this error is returned but it may be related to DNS server issues and is environmental. It is not an error returned by QMM.
The DNS server errors and miscommunication can come from environmental changes such as cloning VMware images or moving images into a lab.

Resolution
If you are using Dynamic DNS assigning, first check the DNS servers very closely and ensure they are working properly. Second, statically assign the DNS servers in the TCP\IP properties of your network card using IPs. If one or both of the DNS servers is not functioning adequately it can cause this issue.

Online forums suggest this to be related to DNS issues / server authentication that periodically happens.

It can be causes by a viruses, malware, spyware, adware or simply a corrupt application. Sometimes, it can be caused by installing a new application without completely removing a conflicting application. This can cause registry corruption or data file corruption or mis-linked files. Check the authenticating server by using the following command on the commandline from the computer being updated."set logonserver" The result is the authenticating Domain controller.
