An error message similar to the one below is encountered when running the Unused BLOB Cleanup job after upgrading to StoragePoint 5.4:
An error occurred while processing StoragePoint Unused BLOB Cleanup Job: Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'WebId', table 'tempdb.dbo.#TMP_ADV_GC___________0000000680D0'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The Statement has been terminated.
In earlier versions of SharePoint 2010, there was an oversight in the process of deleting items where the related versioning content was not removed from the AllDocVersions table. Even though a hot fix that was provided to prevent the issue from occurring in the future, any orphaned version records will have remained. In StoragePoint 5.4, we changed the data collection component for the Unused BLOB Cleanup job to mimic a view utilized in SharePoint to render similar information. Because of a LEFT JOIN within the query, NULL values could potentially be returned for WebIds that do not exist because the parent record for a version does not exist. Due to the constraint on that column, NULLs are not allowed and will produce an error.
Metalogix has changed the constraints for the columns in the table, which is implemented in StoragePoint 5.5. To resolve the issue, please click here to download and upgrade to the latest StoragePoint version.
