When running the StoragePoint Configuration Wizard, the StoragePoint solution is being retracted during the deployment process. However, it is unsuccessful and the following error message is encountered:
Error: Cannot remove the specified assembly from the global assembly cache: GAC\BlueThread.Zlib.dll.
Error: Cannot remove the specified assembly from the global assembly cache: GAC\Bluethread.SharePoint.StoragePoint.Interfaces.dll.
Also, upon assessment of the ULS logs, similar messages like below can be found:
The Execute method of job definition "SPSolutionDeploymentJobDefinition" (id "<Id>") threw an exception. Error: Cannot add the specified assembly to the global assembly cache: GAC\Bluethread.SharePoint.StoragePoint.Interfaces.dll.
The Execute method of job definition "SPSolutionDeploymentJobDefinition" (id "<Id>") threw an exception. Error: Cannot add the specified assembly to the global assembly cache: GAC\Bluethread.Zlib.dll.
There may be enabled dependent services that are leveraging StoragePoint's assembly set, preventing the solutions from being retracted and deployed.
Note: mssdmn.exe is referencing an MSDN service, which was only running because of Visual Studio being installed on the server.
