You may notice the following error if Content Matrix 9.0 License Check is accidentally installed in a farm which already has Content Matrix Organizer.
Content Matrix 9.0 Licence Check has been accidentally installed in a farm that already has Organizer. Content Matrix Organizer and License Check are not designed to co-exist in a farm. Licence Check installation ends up overwriting a DLL being referenced by the Organizer, and that leads to the error on the Licence Management page of the Organizer.
Despite the error on the Licensing Management page, the functionality of Content Matrix Organizer(Organizer) remains unaffected. You would be able to use all the the other functions of Organizer like before. When there is a need to activate the Organizer you can use "Content Matrix Organizer License Activation wizard" on the server where Content Matrix Organizer is installed.
Follow the steps below if you would like to fix the error on the License Management page of the Organizer:
1) Run Content Matrix 9.x installer again and uninstall Licence Check
2) Run the old Content Matrix installer corresponding to the original version of Organizer, and repair the Organizer. Alternatively, uninstall and re-install the Organizer.
Note:
1) Organizer is no longer being shipped starting with Content Matrix 9.0. Henceforth only License Check would be available in the Installer. Please check the release notes for more information.
2) If you already have an older version of Organizer installed in the farm, do not install Licence Check when upgrading to Content Matrix 9.x
3) Use the MSI installer of Metalogix Extensions Web Services in a farm that already has a lower version of Organizer installed. It is recommended to launch it from Windows Command Prompt running in Admin mode.
