"Posted By" column value is not preserved (4315781)

A SharePoint 2013 site collection that is using a Community Site template was migrated to SharePoint Online (SPO). However, the Posted By column in the Discussions List is blank.

This is a reported issue when migrating a site collection/site, which is using the Community Site template, through the Azure Migration Pipeline.

Perform any of the following workarounds:

• Exclude the Community Discussion list from the Azure Migration Pipeline by doing the steps below:
  1. Close the Content Matrix Console.
  2. Edit the %AppData%\Metalogix\Content Matrix Console - SharePoint Edition/ApplicationSettings.xml file using any text editor such as Notepad.
  3. Look for the "ListNamesToIgnoreForAzure" key and add the Community Discussion list to its value.

  4. Save the file, then re-launch the Content Matrix Console.
  5. Re-migrate the Community Discussion list or the site collection.
• Migrate the site collections using Client Side Object Model (CSOM) by unchecking the "Use Azure/SPO Container Office 365 Upload" option in the List Options tab of the job configuration window.
