The following error appears when trying to retrieve an archived item through Outlook:
Error: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {5FBAB8F5-F621-42CB-A6F3-C98AEE10886B} failed due to the following error: 80070005 Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)).!
Note: Archiving and restoring directly from Enterprise Manager is typically still possible in this situation.
IIS application pools on the Archive server are lacking needed permissions.
1. On the Archive server, open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager (Start > Administrative Tools on Server 2008 or search 'IIS' on Server 2012 or higher).
2. On the left navigation window, expand the server name and click on Application Pools.
3. For each application pool that is not directly linked to the superuser account in the Identity column (e.g. AWAppPool7), perform the following:
4. From a command prompt, run IISRESET. NOTE: The command prompt needs to be opened as an administrator for this step.
Archive mail retrieval should work properly again from this point. If the issue persists please contact support for further assistance.
