Automatic groups are not updated - Address Book Synchronization is not enabled (4305053)

Users that are added to Active Directory groups in the Address book Manager are not archived or emails of old users that are no longer members of such groups are still being archived.

Synchronization did not sync the members of the groups in the Address book Manager with Active Directory.

There are several options on how to sync automatic groups in the Address book Manager with Active Directory. Please refer to the list below:

• Automatic scheduled synchronization
  1. Open Enterprise Manager, click Tools > Address book Manager.
  2. On the Groups tab, double-click on the automatic group, then click on the Advanced tab.

     

  3. Make sure the Allow update of references option is selected to be able to update group members. If not, select it and click Apply.

     

  4. On the General settings tab, click on the Settings button across Configure the automatic synchronization parameters.

     

  5. Select the following options:

     

  6. On the Scheduling tab, set up scheduling as needed.

     

• Manual synchronization
  1. Open Enterprise Manager, click Tools > Address book Manager.
  2. On the Groups tab, double-click on the automatic group, then click on the Advanced tab.

     

  3. Make sure the Allow update of references option is selected to be able to update group members. If not, select it and click Apply.

     

  4. Click Synchronization > Synchronize address book.

     

  5. Select the following options:

     

  6. Click Start.
• Manual synchronization per single group
  1. Open Enterprise Manager, click Tools > Address book Manager.
  2. On the Groups tab, double-click on the automatic group, then click on the Advanced tab.

     

  3. Make sure the Allow update of references option is selected to be able to update group members. If not, select it and click Apply.

     

  4. Click the Update now button to sync the members of the group with Active Directory.
