Description
When changing the 'Connect to' Server from an Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000/2003 Server the console remains connected to the Exchange 5.5 Server.

Resolution
In a mixed mode Exchange environment Messagestats was designed to connect to an Exchange 5.5 Server. If after an Exchange Migration there are no Exchange 5.5 Servers remaining in the environment, the 'Connect to' Server will have to be changed to an Exchange 2000/2003 Server.
Take the following steps to change the 'Connect to' Server in MessageStats v5.5.0:
1. Using the Quest MessageStats console, disconnect from the Organization in which the 'Connect to' server will be changed. This needs to be done on all Quest MessageStats console servers.
2. Stop the Quest MessageStats service. This needs to be done on all Quest MessageStats console servers.
3. Make a back-up of the Quest MessageStats database.
4. Using SQL Enterprise Manager, open the Quest MessageStats database and display the contents of the T_Organizations table.
5. For the Organization in which the Connect to' server will be changed, replace the OrganizationName value with the CN attribute value for the Organization object in Active Directory (AD) and the OrganizationDisplayName value with the Organization's adminDisplayName AD attribute. The other fields can be left as is. Note that the Organization field is how the Organization will show up in the Messagestats console as well as in Messagestats reports. This can be set to something other than its current value if so desired.
6. Close the T_Organizations table.
7. Close SQL Enterprise Manager.
8. Start the Quest MessageStats service.
9. Open the Quest MessageStats console.
10. Connect to the desired Exchange 2000/2003 server in the Organization where the above changes were made.
11. Repeat steps 8 to 10 for each console that had previously been connected to the Organization where the above changes were made.
