Cause
If a client clicks the Cancel button while uninstalling MessageStats 6.5.0, the program will terminate as expected. However, the next time the client attempts to uninstall Quest MessageStats, the following error message will get displayed - "Fatal Error during Uninstallation"

Resolution
Once MessageStats is in this state, the client must follow the following procedure to remove MessageStats:
1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility from this link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;2903012) Install the downloaded Windows Installer CleanUp Utility (msicuu2.exe).3) From the Start Menu, run Windows Install Clean Up.5) From the Installed Products list box, select Quest MessageStats.6) Click the Remove button and then click the OK button. This will remove the installation information for the program.7) From Administrative Tools interface, open the Services dialog. Ensure that the service called Quest MessageStats Scheduler Service is stopped.8) Install Quest MessageStats. Be sure to use the same configuration as the previous installation. Do NOT select the Task Migration and Database Migration options. Disregard any error messages during the installation (click OK).9) Uninstall Quest MessageStats via the Add or Remove Programs interface. Disregard any error messages during the installation (click OK).10) Once complete, verify that the Quest MessageStats directory (usually C:\Program Files\Quest Software\MessageStats) does not contain .dll files.11) Verify that there is no longer an entry for Quest MessageStats in Add or Remove Programs. -
