What options are related to Public Folders in the recurrence settings on the Messagestats console?
The following three options are related to Public folders in the Recurrence settings on the Messagestats console:
1. Public Folder Gathering - Pulls the public folders from a given Public Store on a Server.
2. Organization Public Folder Enumeration Gathering - Pulls the MAPI folder tree structure.
3. Organization Public Folder Analysis Gathering - Pulls the public folders from a give Public Store on a Server.
Since Public Folders of a given Public Folder tree are found on the given Public Folder stores of Exchange servers of the organization, Messagestats needs some way to provide some aggregate statistics for the user. So MessageStats first gathers the structure of the MAPI public folder tree, in the Organization Public Folder Enumeration task. It then goes out to get the Public Folders from each Exchange server.
Finally, it puts the Public Folder tree in memory (taken from the MessageStats database) to provide some aggregate statistics. For example since Public Folders are hierarchical in nature, MessageStats determines the effect size and document count of a given folder that includes all of the sub folders that are found under a given folder.
