On the SQL server hosting the MessageStats Database.
To assign the SQL account permissions in the MessageStats database.
1. Launch SQL Management Studio and expand Security | Logins
2. Right click on Logins and choose New Login.
3. Select SQL Authentication
4. Specify a User Name and Password.
5. For ‘Default Database’ choose MessageStats from the drop down.
6. In the left hand column click on User Mapping.
7. For the “Users Mapped to this Login” section put a check mark in the box beside the MessageStats database.
8. Under the “Database role Memberships for” section select – Public, MessageStats_Admin, db_securityadmin and db_ddladmin. Click OK.
On your MessageStats Server.
1. Open the MessageStats Console
2. In the left hand pane right click on the 3rd node from the top and select properties.
3. On the database tab click the elispiss button next to Locate the database on the following SQL Server.
4. Click Use a specific user name and password and enter the user name and password you created on your SQL server.
5. Click the check box "Allow saving password"
6. Click Test Connection.
7. Click OK | OK
To configure the MessageStats reporting to use SQL Authentication.
