The Corporate Exchange at a Glance and the Organizational Traffic Report do not match for total messages. Why?
Corporate Exchange at a glance report
Â
Total Messages = Number of Messages that were sent and received by internal and external users including system messages
Â
Messages Sent = Total number of messages sent by internal and external users including system messages
Â
Messages Received = Total number of messages received by internal and external users including system messages.
Â
Organizational Traffic Report
Â
User Messages Sent = Internal User Messages Sent + External User Messages Sent (This does not include system messages)
Â
User Messages Received = Internal User Messages Received + External User Messages Received (This does not include system messages)
Â
For example
Â
Corporate Exchange at a glance report shows -
Â
Total Messages = 100000
Messages Sent = 25000
Message Received = 75000
Â
The Organizational Traffic Report shows
Â
User Messages Sent = 22000
User Messages Received = 72000
Â
Total Message here would = 94000
Â
These of course do not add up correctly for total messages.
Â
Now then in the Organizational Traffic report if you add the following columns â€
Â
Â
With these two new columns added, using our example above we can get our proper totals now.
Â
In the Organizational Traffic Report we should now have.
Â
User Messages Sent = 22000
User Messages Received = 72000
System Messages Sent = 3000
System Messages Received = 3000
Â
Total Messages = 100000
Â
The Corporate Exchange at a Glance shows all messages received and sent for the Organization including system messages. The Organizational Traffic report shows all messages sent and received for the organization but does not show system messages by default. Adding the system message columns will give the numbers needed for the totals to match.
