LiteSpeed Console Error Version 8 Crashes as adding new backup path

LiteSpeed crashes when trying to add a UNC path as backup-directory in the LiteSpeed Console by pasting the unc path.
This was working fine in 7.5.4 and started crashing when upgraded to version 8.
The error message is “Exception: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException
Message: Error executing xp_sls_WriteConfiguration extended stored procedure: Failed to save/rewrite configuration file”
After adding and starting the console again, LiteSpeed shows the directory without issues .
Everything goes fine until trying to remove that folder : the console crashes again and does not delete the backup directory.
 

There were no explicit write permissions for the user account and service account  to write on the DELL folder and the files and subdirectories.

RESOLUTION:

Give write permissions to the service account  to the LiteSpeed installation folder (by default 'C:\Program Files\Dell\LiteSpeed)

In additional, review the ACL of the user account to the Litespeedsettings.ini file.

Quest recommend setting the group “everyone” with full access to that file.

Restart the UI and test again when this change has been made.
