Is there a way to have Log Shipping make a FULL backup on the publisher, copy the file over to the subscriber, and restore the FULL backup on to the subscriber?
Currently, LogShipping takes a FULL backup of the publisher and immediately restore from the backup file created.
WORKAROUND:
You can manually backup the database on the publisher, copy the backup file to the subscriber, and manually restore it. Then setup LogShipping and unclick the box to do the FULL backup/restore from the LogShipping application.
STATUS:
In version 5.2 of LiteSpeed, a Full database backup is run, the restore run on the subscriber, then the Log Shippng Init job is deleted.
CR65545 has been created to have the ability to do this.
